Operation Nanhe Faristey

Under the mission "Nanhe Faristey," the Railway Police Force (RPF) played a pivotal role in reuniting more than 549 children needing care and protection with their families. 

About the Operation Nanhe Farishtey - Rescuing Lost Children:

  • It was launched by Indian Railways, under it, RPF plays an important role in reuniting the children, who are lost/separated due to several reasons from their family. 

About RPF

  • The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is an Armed force of the Union of India entrusted with protecting railway passengers, passenger area and railway property of the Indian railways. 
  • The Force is under the authority of the Ministry of Railways, GoI.

Objectives of RPF:

  • Carry on an unrelenting fight against criminals in protecting railway passengers, passenger areas and railway property.
  • Facilitate passenger travel and security by removing all anti-social elements from trains, railway premises and passenger areas.
  • Remain vigilant to prevent trafficking in women and children and take appropriate action to rehabilitate destitute children found in Railway areas.
  • Act as a bridge between the Govt Railway Police / Local Police and the railway administration.

  • Assisting Those in Need (Operation Seva): With a humanitarian approach, RPF assists elderly, sick or injured passengers during their rail travels.
  • Curbing Illegal Goods Transport (Operation Satark): Under "Operation Satark," the Railway Protection Force (RPF) seizes illegal tobacco, liquor, and other intoxicating substances.
