Sustainable Finance for Tiger Landscapes Conference:

  • Under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty Queen, the conference will be hosted by the Royal Government of Bhutan and supported by the Tiger Conservation Coalition. 
  • The Coalition includes several leading conservation organizations including the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA), Fauna & Flora International (FFI), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Natural State, Panthera, TRAFFIC, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Zoological Society of London (ZSL)
  • Conference Ambition:
    • 1 billion USD dollars additional catalyzed from global public and private investors and institutions for tiger conservation by 2034
  • Objectives:
    • Recognize Tigers as an indicator species and their potential to contribute to national and global biodiversity, climate, human well-being, sustainable development agendas and within global funding mechanisms.
    • Inspire collaboration and catalyze funding from the private and public sectors to contribute to sustainable financing for tigers and their landscapes through 2034.
    • Showcase successful approaches to sustainable financing for replication and scaling up.
    • Facilitate an exchange among key stakeholders to share and explore new funding streams.
    • Present conservation finance models from Representative Landscapes, based on evidence-based action plans and performance indicators, inspire the adoption of creative financing strategies to secure and recover tiger populations. 

 

Tiger Conservation Coalition

  • It is a group of NGOs that has worked for many years with partners to conserve tigers, 
  • our vision is for a long-term presence of viable and ecologically functional populations of wild tigers secure in protected habitats, with representation and links across their indigenous range, respected and valued by neighbouring human communities and beyond, a magnificent symbol of nature in all its beauty, complexity and wonder for future generations.
  • The eight non-governmental organisations (NGOs), all closely involved with tiger conservation and strong supporters of the Global Tiger Initiative (GTI) and Global Tiger Recovery Program (GTRP), have come together to share some ideas with the tiger range countries (TRCs) and other members of the Global Tiger Initiative for consideration for the next phase of this ambitious initiative.
