Knowing about the civil services and what civil servants do

It requires so much effort and hard work to make it happen. But why would you put so much attention in something to achieve without knowing what is it all about? So, this is important to know by yourself what type of job you are applying for and where your hard work is going to pay off.

The civil servants mostly work for the administrative departments of India. The officers get to work with MP or MLA for the betterment of society. Here are some examples mentioned below:

INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE (IAS officers):

The aspirants securing rank between 1 and early 90s are allotted for this post depending upon their preference and category. They head all the central and state government departments and work as people’s representatives.

INDIAN POLICE SERVICE (IPS):

The central armed police force department is headed by the IPS officers. They mainly take up the responsibility of maintenance of law and order of the country including cybercrime, juvenile crime, narcotics etc.

INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICE (IFS officers):

The main task of these officers is to make a friendly relationship with other countries worldwide. They mostly represent India on international bodies like the United Nations too.

Time table preparation:

Time management is the key to success. Know the importance of things from your to-do list and then prioritize accordingly. Do not waste time sitting idle when there is so much left to do. Do take enough rest in between execution of tasks. Most importantly, break your tasks into smaller segments and take rest in between so that you can be more productive.

Read the syllabus carefully:

Before you start any type of preparation, it is always important to have a clear overview of the syllabus. So, go through it carefully, objectify it and do not get panicked. This is true that the huge syllabus can seem to you challenging. But if you consider breaking it into smaller chunks, it would be much easier for you.
