  • The ‘International Purple Fest’ highlighted a diverse platform for deliberating on disability related issues and inclusion in Goa became the space for the launch of the initiative. 
  • India launches cloud-based toll-free 'Disability Information Line' (DIL) for persons with disabilities. 
    • The line integrates multiple helplines under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. 
    • The line provides information on 21 disabilities and various subjects related to disability prevention, management, education, vocational training, and job opportunities.
  • It will soon introduce a five-digit number to consolidate information and services for persons with disabilities. 
    • The launch took place during the 'International Purple Fest' in Goa, focusing on disability inclusion and solutions for neurodiversity and invisible disabilities.
  • As part of the festival, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in association with Office of Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) is organising a two days Sensitization Workshop.
