My name is Ayush Akshat. I managed to secure the All India rank 106 after my third attempt at the age of 24. I graduated from Venkateshwar college, Delhi in Political science. My home state is Jharkhand.
Mistakes that I made during my first and second attempt:
The main mistake that I made was that I didn’t prefer practicing the previous years question papers. I only used to refer to the Test series.
Improvements that I made after the failure:
After my failure, I started focusing more on the previous year question papers. I used to focus on those areas where the UPSC asks more questions. I went off the beaten path and focused more on reading newspapers and magazines.
Contribution of KSG in my preparations:
One of my friends told me that KSG is definitely the best spot to prepare for the interviews.I So, I appeared for the mock interview at KSG on 6th April. The panel asked me very relevant questions regarding my DAF and tried to put me under some pressure to test my metal.
The panel also gave me some relevant pointers on the areas in which I need to improve more. And, due to my fast-talking, I was unable to pinpoint the exact words during the mock interview . I kept in mind not to repeat this same mistake during the main interview round. They also gave me several suggestions related to my appearance, body language, and so on.
