Important Highlights

  • Sweden will soon launch a trade promotion event — Time for India to boost bilateral trade and hinted that the Swedish Government may take a more liberal post-COVID visa policy for India soon.
  • “There is no requirement for vaccination for entry nor is there a quarantine regime in place. But travellers need to take a COVID-19 test on arrival,” said Mr. Molin reiterating his country’s general visa and entry policy. The envoy attended the Business Climate Survey (SCS) conducted by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in India and the Swedish missions detected a positive business climate persisting in India despite the setback of the second wave of COVID-19.
  • Molin will lead a Swedish diplomatic and economic delegation in the second week of November to Sweden and team up with the Indian embassy in Stockholm and launch a promotional campaign for Indian business.

  • Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY)

RKVY is an umbrella scheme which was initiated in 2007 for achieving a holistic development in the field of agriculture and allied services. On 1st November 2017, the Government revamped Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana as Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RKVY – RAFTAAR). This scheme aims at promoting agripreneurship and agribusiness.

  • ASPIRE

A Scheme for Promotion of Innovation, Rural Industries and Entrepreneurship (ASPIRE) was launched to set up incubation centres and a network of technology centres to accelerate entrepreneurship and to promote startups for innovation in the agro-industry.

  • MUDRA BANK

Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Bank (MUDRA Bank) or Mudra Loan, is a new financial institution set up by the Government of India. It is set up under the guidelines of Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Scheme (PMMY). The purpose of Mudra Bank is the development of micro-units and providing refinance to the Micro Finance Institutions.

  • Multiplier Grants Scheme

The MGS is implemented by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology. This scheme encourages R&D development in the country. The aim of this scheme is encouraging collaborative R&D between the industries and academics or R&D institutions for the purpose of development of products and packages.

  • Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups

Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups functions under the trusteeship management of the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company. To give a boost to the startup industry, the Government of India announced this scheme. It is not easy for an entrepreneur to set up a business/company.
