1st Attempt मैं कैसे करे IAS Clear जानिए

I am Shraddha Gome and I belong to Indore, Madhya Pradesh. I did my schooling from Indore and after that I received the Law degree from National Law School of India University, Bangalore.

Before preparing for the civil services examination, I was working for a pre stint as a Legal Manager with an MNC company.

In the UPSC CSE 2021, I have secured the all India 60th rank in my first attempt with opting for Law as an optional subject. Before starting to talk about my journey, I always say that the UPSC examination is not merely an examination, it is a journey in itself which has its own shares of ups and downs. My basis for judging my performance has always been to focus on the things that are under my control. And, that is about how much effort I am actually able to put in and whether I can adopt the right strategy and also seek the right guidance at the right time. As this was my first attempt, I made sure to do all the mistakes very prior before entering into the examination hall. Therefore, I focus a lot on either giving the mocks or the answer writing practice. I think that God has been kind to allow me to make it through this immense examination in my first attempt. I will always give this message that work hard and dream big enough and if we have discipline in our life and by putting in the right efforts, success might get delayed a bit, but we will surely get succeeded till the end.

Some factors attributing to my success:

I think it depends on the combination of factors. In my journey itself, I met several candidates, who I think, might have put much more effort than me in the preparation. I believe that it takes a huge heart to go through successive attempts, despite the uncertainty and the relentless nature of this examination.

When it comes to my journey, I made sure that I focused on the right strategy and previously mentioned as well, seeking the right guidance, this journey will not be just about your academics, it also about your values, beat of discipline, beat of perseverance and mainly about having confidence in yourself. Although that confidence is bound to be shaken at frequent intervals during the entire process, I have always taken a very positive approach and that is how I am as an individual as well. Even when I scored low marks in the test series or mocks, it reminded me better to have that wrong low score right now because it allowed me to ensure that I am aware of my weakness and the frequent mistakes that I was making. So, don’t fear from making mistakes, not fear from falling down but try to always come back stronger. That was the approach I adopted at every step, and every stage of this journey.span data-sheets-value="{"1":2,"2":"1st Attempt मैं कैसे करे IAS Clear जानिए"}" data-sheets-userformat="{&qu">

<h" style="text-align: justify;""What role such Internships play in a students or an aspirant’s career or in shaping their personalities?

As Civil services has been my dream career and the choice of doing law as graduation was also a deliberate one. I believed genuinely that foundation in law put the civil servants in a very good position because today we are governed by the law and the rule of law is very core at the administration. Not only this fascinated me but, I thought it will also add value to the services and that’s how I made the choice of pursuing law. While I was in Law school, I made sure that I enjoyed all the varied opportunities that the law school offers you, be it in terms of leadership, publications, or in terms of academics as well. I was also fortunate enough to get into a global program of the future leader. Post that, I got back to my aim of pursuing the civil services career.

First aspect would be leadership. Leadership is the major key to be a good civil servant. That core aspect to be a good civil servant is how good of a leader you are, because it is not someone who is sitting alone working on a desk, a civil servant lead the entire team, lead the people, and it’s important to have a right vision, someone who is articulate enough to convey message to a larger audience and take them along in the journey following the right direction. These skills of leadership, be it perseverance, etc added value to my personality.

My mock interview experience with KSG:

I was associated with KSG for the mock interview in which I had a very good experience and also, fortunate enough to have Khan sir in the panel during the mock interview. Indeed, it was a very good experience. During the interview, as I am from a law background, the main concentration was on the technical and the factual aspects, a certain section, a certain case law, etc. Although, my main interview was very different from the mock one. I had to check upon my fast talking during the mock interview. The panel pointed me out on the areas to improve upon and how to improve upon. Finally, Khan sir helped in motivating me, finding out the real me. He himself is really very positive, the way he boosts up, the way he makes people believe that you are actually capable of achieving anything you want in life. I also had a one on one interaction with sir, that experience was really beautiful.
