The Chief Ministers of both Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu expressed concerns about the low fertility rates in their States. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that he planned to introduce legislation to incentivise more children per family.

The world’s first wood-panelled satellite was launched into space on 5 November 2024 to test the reliability of timber as a renewable building material for future space travel. The tiny Japanese spacecraft named LignoSat, developed by Kyoto University and homebuilder Sumitomo Forestry, arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a SpaceX Dragon cargo capsule. After a month, it will be released into orbit above the Earth, where it will remain in orbit for six months.
