In the early 1970s — during the height of the Cold War when a wall, both physical and ideological, divided Germany and much of the world — a woman living in East Berlin found herself afflicted by a mysterious disease. Her jaw grew stiff, locked in a painful spasm that doctors could not explain.

Climate change back the airships

GS Paper - III

Airships were the first aircraft capable of controlled powered flight and were thought to be the future of travel for some years in the early 20th century. However, fundamental technological shortcomings and the rapid development of aeroplanes killed the idea of airship transport. They see limited use today as advertising platforms, for aerial observation by scientists and militaries, and in the tourism industry.

Canada ends fast-track visa programme

Amid an ongoing diplomatic standoff between India and Canada, Justin Trudeau's government suspended its popular Student Direct Stream (SDS) programme ending a fast-track study permit process for international students. Canada has been witnessing protests by students in several provinces, seeking relaxation in immigration policies.
