India and France have been elected President and Co-President of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) for the two-year term from 2024 to 2026. India ran unopposed for the presidency, while France emerged victorious in the contest with Grenada for the Co-Presidency.

The Supreme Court, by a 4-3 majority, on 8 December 2024 overruled the 1967 judgment in S. Azeez Basha vs. Union Of India that became the basis for denying the minority status to the Aligarh Muslim University. It, however, left it to a three-judge bench to determine afresh the minority status of the AMU, based on the principles evolved in this judgment.

On 8 November 1895, Wilhem Conrad Röntgen was working in his laboratory at the University of Würzburg in Germany when he made a peculiar discovery. He found that the impact of cathode rays on the glass vacuum tube was generating a “new kind of invisible ray” with extraordinary penetrative power, which could be recorded on photographic plates.
